So Michelle is still working on those gym shoes, Robin is loving a piece of technology she never knew she needed, and Hannah can’t get enough of Everlane. See everything we’re obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried obsessions.

Still obsessed with finding the right gym shoes

Finding the best women's gym shoes for strength training

Update on the gym shoes: Last week I was trying the Nike Metcon Repper D and I thought I just needed to break them in, but they actually just didn’t fit right. I typically wear an 8-8.5 and these were too small in an 8.5 and too big in 9. Guess I’ll be the Goldilocks of gym shoes in addition to paint colors. This week I ordered the Nike Metcon 3s, Nike Free TR 7, and Asics Gel-Fit YUI to try. I wore the Metcon 3s to the gym today and I think the 8.5 might be too big! I’m really struggling here. The Asics Gel-Fit YUI are SO COMFY, but I think I prefer the flat, supportive base of the Metcons. Maybe I need to try Metcon 2s? or the Metcon DSX Flyknit? I’m about to drop some $$$ on gym shoes. Please let me know if you have Metcons and how they fit your feet in the comments! Morgen, lookin’ at you!

Amazon Echo

Amazon Echo obsess

My boyfriend, Tai, came home with the Amaon Echo after winning it raffle style at a charity golf tournament last weekend. We never would have purchased this ourselves—and it still took some convincing for Tai to keep it—but now that it’s here we use it ALL THE TIME. She plays music, tells us the weather, makes our shopping list, and so much more. It’s the device we never knew we wanted. Could also be that we got it for free but still riding the high of new technology! Let us know what other amazing things Alexa can do in the comments.

Victoria Secret Wireless Bra

ATWT victoria secret obsess

With all the new online bra companies, Lively/ Third Love, I haven’t been to Victoria Secret in some time. However, right now is their Semi Annual sale and that was enough to pull me in as I was walking by. I snagged a wireless Victoria Secret push up for $20 and have not taken it off since. It looks really similar to this one and is SO comfortable. I love the longline bottom which supports while still having no wires. I can not stress enough how comfortable this bra is. Already looking at the other styles they have to snag some more.

Everlane Crop Top and Skirt Set

everlane crop top pull on skirt navyI know I just talked about Everlane in Monday’s post, but their newly released dresses are too much. I need this crop top and skirt combo immediately. I have nowhere to wear it, of course, but when has that ever stopped me?

Pretty Little Liars

Guys, the series finale of Pretty Little Liars is coming up this Tuesday, and I’m pretty excited about it. I’ve honestly had no idea what’s been going on in this show for awhile now, but I’ve been watching it for so long that I feel like I just need to see it to the end. Will we get answers? Have I wasted years of my life caring about this show? Time will tell.

Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Gift Guide: Indoorsy

Struggling to find gift ideas for your favorite people? We’ve got you covered with our And Then We Tried gift guide! First up: your friends and family who are decidedly indoorsy. While we can’t claim to be experts on much, things to buy people who like to stay inside is definitely in our wheelhouse.

Obsessions: 10.19.18

You wanna know what we have been decidedly NOT obsessed with in the past month? The blog. Womp womp. We’re hopping back in this week, but we’ll be posting a bit more sporadically for a while. Here’s hoping you all loved getting caught up on Michelle’s driveway gate plans yesterday. See what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
