Lash Extensions in Cleveland at Flawless Lash

I’ve been rambling on about lash extensions in our Obsessions for the past couple weeks, so I figured I might as well share how it all works. I went and saw Shauna at Flawless Lash in Cleveland and after looking at these pics I don’t know how I ever DIDN’T have giant, amazing lashes. So read on to learn everything about getting lash extensions in Cleveland at Flawless Lash.

Some background info

I went to Flawless Lash and got the Classic Full Set with Shauna as my lash master. I bought a Groupon for $80, but typically this would be $125. The next level, a Glamour full set, is $150 and covers more of your lashes with extensions.

First, I had to remove my mascara, since I forgot to do that at home, then Shauna and I took a look at some example pictures to decide on a style for my lash extensions. You can go with longer lashes on the outside for a cat eye look, or fan the lashes out like a doll. Then there are different types of individual lashes that you can use: a C curl, D curl, J curl, or straight lashes. I was encouraged to “go big or go home,” so I got all C curls at the longest length possible, 13. If you mix the curls and go a little shorter, the overall look is more natural. But, I figured that I already have magenta hair, so I’m not fooling anyone into thinking I have a natural look anyway. GIMME ALL THE LASHES.

Thanks to Hannah for coming along as my personal paparazzi and snapping pics through the full two hours. And shoutout to Jamie for introducing me to lash extensions and changing my life forever.

The prep

My bottom lashes were taped down and a patch was stuck on to protect my face from the lash glue.

Then, Shauna cleaned all of my lashes again.

All of the lashes were lined up on a band on her hand so she could grab a lash, dip it in glue, then apply it all within close proximity to my face.

She used two sets of tweezers and separated my lashes to find the one she was ready to work on, then placed the lash extension with the other hand.

She worked on both eyes at the same time to make sure everything was symmetrical.

I know this looks like it would be pokey as hell, but I honestly barely felt anything while this was happening. Shauna said a lot of people fall asleep during their appointments and I definitely believe it.

Partway through, she had to tape my eye into a slightly open position in order to access all my eyelashes. My eyes were a little dry at the end from being taped open, but it wasn’t terrible.

It’s crazy seeing the extra long lashes compared to my regular ones.

Please enjoy this shot up my nose. Thanks, Hannah. You can appreciate the fluffy C curl here though.

The finishing touches

Shauna brushed out my new lashes to make sure there weren’t any missed spots.

Then she used a micro mist which was supposed to help set the glue and prevent any irritation.

The big reveal

These lashes were overwhelming at first and take a little getting used to. After about two days I was fully obsessed. I had to keep my lashes dry for 24 hours, so no sweaty gym stuff, steam, or aggressive face washing for a day. After that, you just have to be a little gentle with your lashes, brush them every day, and stay away from oil-based eye products.

Before and After

I LOVE HAVING LASH EXTENSIONS. The process of getting lash extensions at Flawless Lash was great and two weeks later my lashes still look amazing. You can get your lashes filled after one ($30), two ($50), or three ($60) weeks and after that, you have to get the full set reapplied. You can change the style of your lashes at the fill appointments, so I’m thinking I might shift a little more cat eye if I get them filled.

They are holding up really well after two weeks. I’ve seen several lashes fall out/shed naturally with my regular lashes, but they don’t look sparse or sloppy.

I’m a little worried about my bank account now that I’m fully obsessed with lash extensions and will have to keep getting them forever. I might try some lash serums and lash tinting for a little while to see if that helps me feel lashy and not broke.

Are you obsessed with lash extensions? Did my pics sell you on it? Go see Shauna and tell her I say hi!

Bonus question: got any favorite lash serums I should try?

Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
