We hope you all had a good Thanksgiving and are now either relaxing at home or shoving someone trying to get a Black Friday deal. Here’s what we’re obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried obsessions.

Lash Extensions + New Hair

lash extensions and hair color

After reading all of your thoughts on lash extensions, I got some this week! I followed the mindset of “go big or go home” and damn, are these things big. Hannah came with and took a million photos so we’ll have a full recap up soon. But, Shauna at Flawless Lash in Lakewood did an amazing job! I also got my hair cut + dyed on Saturday, so I am essentially a whole new person! I went with the deep magenta color, thanks for all our your comments encouraging me!

Black Leather Jackets

black leather jackets

My leather jacket is finally wearing out, so I’m on the hunt for a new one. I ordered five options from ASOS on Monday and they should be arriving this week. In a shocking twist, I’m pretty picky about my leather jackets and also don’t want to pay a lot for something I might trash in a bar. Anyone else in the market for a leather jacket? Have you seen any Black Friday deals I should take advantage of?

Quick PSA that Madewell has 25% off your purchase right now and if you’re feeling uninspired on what to pick up, check out this beauty. That is all.

Everlane Denim

I like to think she’s sitting like this because of how stiff the jeans were when they arrived. Gotta break those bad boys in.

To be fair I’ve been obsessed with these since ordering them early last week. Who else can’t stop clicking that tracking link? Well, all that clicking worked and they arrived just in time to pack for my Thanksgiving travel. I ordered two pairs, the High-Rise Skinny jean in Dark Indigo and the Mid-Rise Skinny jean in Mid Blue. Both in the ankle length. One was a clear winner in my mind and I’ll be doing a full write up on my thoughts on each soon.

Capri Blue Fir and Firewood Candle

I could also call this “every candle from Anthropologie.” Why are they all so good?? We picked this one up last weekend when they were 20% off and have been burning it non-stop all week. A nice little transition into the Holiday decor before we actually set up the tree and all the trimmings.

Ellie Jane Card Holder

I got this leather card holder for my birthday last week! It’s made by fellow Clevelander Sarah Larson of Ellie Jane Bags. She makes some great products and can be found on Etsy and at flea markets and shows around Cleveland. I’m loving this little card holder so far and it’s great for keeping my ATWT business cards handy!

Christmas Movies

I do my best to not start celebrating Christmas until after Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday) has passed. But now that we’re officially in Christmas season, I’ve been compiling my list of Christmas movies to watch. I should have a final version to share with you guys soon! In the meantime, of course, I’m watching way too many Hallmark Christmas movies.

This has been another week of And Then We Tried Obsessions, where we share whatever we’re obsessed with each week. Let us know what you’re obsessed with this week in the comments and if you see anything in the wild that you think we’d be obsessed with, be sure to tag us @andthenwetried or use #ATWTobsessions

Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Gift Guide: Indoorsy

Struggling to find gift ideas for your favorite people? We’ve got you covered with our And Then We Tried gift guide! First up: your friends and family who are decidedly indoorsy. While we can’t claim to be experts on much, things to buy people who like to stay inside is definitely in our wheelhouse.

Obsessions: 10.19.18

You wanna know what we have been decidedly NOT obsessed with in the past month? The blog. Womp womp. We’re hopping back in this week, but we’ll be posting a bit more sporadically for a while. Here’s hoping you all loved getting caught up on Michelle’s driveway gate plans yesterday. See what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
