Hannah and Robin are binge-watching some great shows, and Michelle has a very important item packed for her visit back to her college campus. Here’s what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried obsessions.

The Frugalwoods

obsessed with the Frugalwoods

I love these people. We’ve never met, and I don’t comment on anything on their site, so they have no clue about my love. But it’s there. They worked their asses off and are hella frugal so they were able to retire last year (they are both in their early 30s) and they share good tips for being better with money. I like that they aren’t preachy about being frugal and acknowledge the privilege it takes to be able to save such a high percentage of their salaries. Also, they are obsessed with their dog and I’m obsessed with MY dog, so I think its pretty clear that I’m on the path to financial success. She just wrote a book that’s available for pre-order here, or you can catch up on their frugal living tips on their site: Frugalwoods.

Tiger Suits

tiger suit cincinnati

I’m packing for a trip to Cincinnati this weekend for the University of Cincinnati homecoming and thought this was a good time to mention my tiger suit. Amy, Ben, and I picked up tiger suits in Ireland about six years ago and our lives have never been the same. Amy and I wore these all over Europe to stay warm and then their incredible practicality and style inspired everyone we know to buy one. I’d guess that thirty people have tiger suits now and it really makes a statement when we all wear them together.

If you want to tiger suit up, here are a few options on Amazon:

  1. Cozy Character Adult Onesie

  2. Tiger Pajama Halloween Costume

  3. Just Love Adult Onesie

  4. Ragstock Women’s Onesie Pajamas

Robin

The Sun and Her Flowers

the sun and her flowers

You’ve probably heard of Rupi Kaur from her first book of poetry, Milk and Honey. The Sun and Her Flowers is her recently released second book and I know what you’re thinking—poetry. And I can assure you I’ve never made it through a typical poem either. But these are sad, and empowering, and funny and when they come from a young, hip, lady, you can’t help but love them. Trust me, you’ll be sold too.

Breaking Bad

breaking bad

I’ve been a little under the weather this week and while soaking up some much-needed rest on the couch, I decided to start rewatching one of my favorite shows, Breaking Bad. Even though I’ve seen all the episodes it is so fun rewatching and noticing things you never saw the first time. Do you love rewatching favorites?

Hannah

Mindhunter

mindhunter obsession

Guys, I know I’m the eight millionth person on the internet to sing the praises of Mindhunter, but honestly, it’s SO GOOD. Zac and I watched seven episodes in one day. I can’t get enough of the depictions of the real-life murderers (CAN WE TALK ABOUT ED KEMPER??) plus, who doesn’t love Jonathan Groff? I haven’t finished it yet, but if you like true crime or crime dramas of any kind, you have to check it out! It’s on Netflix.

This has been another week of And Then We Tried Obsessions, where we share whatever we’re obsessed with each week. Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Obsessions: 10.19.18

You wanna know what we have been decidedly NOT obsessed with in the past month? The blog. Womp womp. We’re hopping back in this week, but we’ll be posting a bit more sporadically for a while. Here’s hoping you all loved getting caught up on Michelle’s driveway gate plans yesterday. See what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
