It’s Friday the 13th! Got anything spooky planned? We’re still trying to figure out what to be for Halloween, and Hannah is still working her way through her fall movie list. Here’s what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried obsessions.

Bliss Kiss Simply Pure Cuticle & Nail Oil

bliss kiss nail oil

I’ve been using this nail oil for the past several years and started up again this week. I have the nails and cuticles of a farmhand and this stuff helps fix peeling nails, cracked cuticles, hangnails, and general signs of poorly treated hands. I like the Crisp scent and just keep buying multipacks because the refill method seemed hard. The recommended program is a little aggressive: put this on your nails literally every ten minutes for three days, but I find it works even if you just use it a couple times a day. I always have a couple of tubes of this stashed around, so if we are IRL friends, hit me up if you want to try it. If we are internet friends, what is your fave nail/cuticle repair method?

Native Deodorant

I’m not exactly fanatical about using natural products, but I’m starting to think about it more than I ever have in the past. So, when I read exactly one article about the wonders of Native Deodorant, touted as a natural deodorant that actually works, I immediately bought the sample pack. I have always been a very sweaty lady (you’re welcome) and spent years using prescription strength deodorants in attempts to not be the sweatiest person in the room. I haven’t received my shipment yet but you know I’ll report back when I do!

May I Have This Dance (Remix) [feat. Chance the Rapper] by Francis and the Lights

Friend-of-the-blog Liz introduced me to this song at our girls only sleepover a few weeks ago, and I’ve had it on heavy rotation since. Is it just me, or is this what Phil Collins music would sound like if released in 2017? Also, the music video is adorable.

Edited to add: HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS CHANCE THE RAPPER AND FRANCIS AND THE LIGHTS DID A COVER OF DEAR THEODOSIA ON THE HAMILTON MIXTAPE I’M CRYING.

Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Obsessions: 10.19.18

You wanna know what we have been decidedly NOT obsessed with in the past month? The blog. Womp womp. We’re hopping back in this week, but we’ll be posting a bit more sporadically for a while. Here’s hoping you all loved getting caught up on Michelle’s driveway gate plans yesterday. See what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
