Michelle is bopping around Belgium this week, Hannah is hooked on a new show, and Robin can’t get enough color. This is this week’s edition of And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Europeans are so lucky to have easy access to the best late night/all day street food ever. I’ve been having at least one per day while in Belgium and it’s always the perfect food. Honorable mentions go to cheese croquette for being a fancy mozzarella stick and Belgian beer for being delicious and high ABV.

Color Factory

color factory exterior

Yesterday I made the trip up to San Francisco to check out the Color Factory. It is a two-story interactive exhibit that explores color though immersive experiences. Each room is a different color and it is so SO fun. It is only a pop-up so it will be leaving San Francisco soon however they just announced they will be extending one more month. If you’ll be in the area you really should check it out and be sure to jump on tickets fast, they sell out very fast!

Plus in addition to the exhibit you get a map that guides you around the neighborhood to find additional color experiences. I have to say this was just as fun as the exhibit itself and lead us to places in the city I never would have found on my own. Highly recommend checking out!

I storied the visit on our Instagram so hop over early to see the ball pit live in action.

The Killing

the killing title card

In a quest to watch something new instead of watching the same three things over and over again, I started watching The Killing last week. I’M HOOKED. The first two seasons follow a homicide detective as she investigates the murder of a teenage girl, and season three moves onto a new case. I just finished season two the other day and there is a crazy revelation at the end that I didn’t see coming! Hoping seasons three and four are just as good. You can watch it on Netflix.

Fall Movie List

My favorite way to get into any season is to make a playlist and watch as many movies as possible. My fall playlist from last year is pretty killer, if I do say so myself, so now it’s time to assemble my annual list of fall movies. What movies get you in the fall spirit? Anything back-to-school, witchy, slightly spooky, or just generally set in New England is welcome.

This has been another week of And Then We Tried Obsessions, where we share whatever we’re obsessed with each week. Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Gift Guide: Indoorsy

Struggling to find gift ideas for your favorite people? We’ve got you covered with our And Then We Tried gift guide! First up: your friends and family who are decidedly indoorsy. While we can’t claim to be experts on much, things to buy people who like to stay inside is definitely in our wheelhouse.

Obsessions: 10.19.18

You wanna know what we have been decidedly NOT obsessed with in the past month? The blog. Womp womp. We’re hopping back in this week, but we’ll be posting a bit more sporadically for a while. Here’s hoping you all loved getting caught up on Michelle’s driveway gate plans yesterday. See what else we’ve been obsessed with in this week’s And Then We Tried Obsessions.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
