Sofa Table + Benches | Craigslist Remix

I’m back at it again with another Craigslist Remix. Well, this started as a remix and then I decided I HAD to have these benches in my life, so I hurried to the moving sale after work and bought the set.

The Items

A Sofa Table and 2 Small Benches on Casters

What grabbed my attention?

I liked the strap details on the benches and the round casters. The sofa table was fine, but I was drawn to the benches.

Option 3:

and the winner is….

Option 2: Light linen + leather

I loved the look of the Katy Skelton Safari Bench Emily Henderson featured in her master bedroom reveal, but couldn’t swing the hefty price tag. I might try to sand and lighten up the wood a little bit, but for now, I like the contrast of the leather straps on the light fabric. I like the stripes + leather, but since I’m planning on doing large stripes on the cane barrel chairs that will be facing these benches I didn’t want the entry to get too stripey.

Check back next week for the final IRL reveal!

Thoughts

  • Do you think I picked the right option? or do you think these are hideous?
  • How do you style your sofa table? Right now, it’s just working as another place for George to perch and harass Freddie.

Currently Trying:

To refrain from buying everything I see on Craigslist

Attaching a wood fence to a chainlink fence

As I mentioned in my last fence/gate update post, I helped Erika attach a wood fence to the chainlink fence in her backyard. The process was similar to when I converted a chainlink fence to a wood fence, except in this case, we left the chainlink fence intact. This method is a good option if you want to add a little more privacy to your yard or camouflage a chainlink fence while you wait to save up for a completely new fence.

Fence Updates and Two-Panel Wood Driveway Gate Plans

Hellooooo, I’m thinking about fences again! You all had the pleasure of following along as I moved and rebuilt the fence in my backyard and then converted a chainlink fence into a wood fence along my driveway, and now it’s finally time to build that driveway gate. Of course, I can’t just build a driveway gate and leave it at that, I’ve also decided to cap the entire fence to cover up the dogear pickets and give everything a cleaner and more finished look. HOORAY!
